Those who love «zoological» travels can expect incredibly exiting discoveries. Primorski! Krai's wildlife is very rich and full of striking contrasts. It is famous for its original combination of northern and southern species, which differ by their geographical location. Besides, ancient relict animals inhabit Primorski! Krai's fauna. They often do not differ from their ancestors who lived in late Tertiary and early Quaternary. Ussuriland is home to such typical mammals as Amur tigers, Far Eastern leopards, predatory cats, raccoon dogs, and Himalayan bears. These predators make this area unique and attractive. Herds of ungulates, including boar, Sitka deer, Siberian slag, musk dear, roe deer, and serow are concentrated here. Red wolf, Amur bauson, Nepal musteline, glutton, lynx, sable, weasel, and otter also inhabit this territory.
This area is rich of insects. There are diverse seeds, berries, and fruit. Forests have a complex multilayer structure. Therefore Primorye is home to 350 bird species, including endemic species, which are typical of the Chinese-Himalayan type of fauna or have a tropical appearance. They winter in Philippine Islands and Sunda Isles, in India and Indochina.
Although fauna of marine islands is poor, it is pretty flake. It should be mentioned that almost every island has its unique fauna as a result of bird's isolation and adaptation. Bird's population is mainly composed of migrants and vivacious species. Lots of sparrows live on the islands. Sea birds, including Ussuriisky scarf, auk, puffin-rhinoceros, diving pigeon, and Pacific seagull are the most attractive. Very rare bird's species, such as sheldrake, frog-pecker, accipiter, and golden eagle are found here.

One hundred species of fish inhabit the lakes and rivers of Primorye. Among them one can encounter those found in north and south. There are fish species, which are typical of Europe and Mid-Asia, for example sheat-fish and carp. Representatives of ancient preglacial fauna including Amur pike, Amur rudd, silver crucian carp, grayling, and salmon trout are preserved. It goes without saying that representatives of Chinese fauna (red-eye) and those of India (Amur sheat-fish and cowfish) will call tourists' attention.
